Although less known, sweetgrass is a purifying agent which can be used to smudge your house (cleaning with smoke). It is also a sacred plant within American Indian tribes and grows in the Rocky Mountains. Sweetgrass is also called ‘the braids of mother earth’. Before harvesting, it is braided. Sweetgrass has a natural sweet smell and reminds you of your natural origin. It makes people long for nature and is therefore often burned in combination with sacred wood (palo santo). It creates a positive mood.
